The Graduate Program in Computational Sciences (CCOMP) is part of Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).

What is Computational Science? According to Wikipedia:

Computational science (also scientific computing or scientific computation) is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary field that uses advanced computing capabilities to understand and solve complex problems.

The program is classified with grade 4, according to Brazilian funding agency CAPES, in the Interdisciplinary field.
