The Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) offers five undergraduate courses:
- Bachelor of Mathematics
- Bachelor of Mathematics Education
- Bachelor of Statistics
- Bachelor of Computer Science
- Bachelor of Actuarial Science
In addition to its own courses, IME also offers basic mathematics and computer topics for all undergraduate courses in the faculties located at the Technology and Science Center (CTC) of UERJ.
At graduate level, in addition to the Graduate Program in Computational Sciences, IME / UERJ is part of the network of institutions that implement and host the Professional Master in Science Degree in Mathematics in the National Network (PROFMAT) together with 74 institutions (see page www.profmat-sbm.org.br) since 2012. This is a stricto sensu graduate program, promoted by the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM), to improve the professional training of basic education mathematics teachers. The Institute also offers a Lato Sensu Specialization Course in Learning in Mathematics (see page https://especialmat.ime.uerj.br/)
